The Rat Line is an independent San Jose State alumni magazine, first published after the 1987 Stanford game by “early sixties friends” of three independent houses on or near South 11th Street—”Greek row”. They were: The Rats Nest, Lions Den and Surfrider, three houses owned by two sororities: KKG and GPB.  (Post your political news story or a link on our board.)

What's the difference between

a Million, a Billion, a Trillion?

A million seconds is 12 days.

A billion seconds is 31 years.

A trillion seconds is 31,688 years!

Leon Donohue’s hope

In the last week of August End Claire Appledoorn lost his battle with malignant melanoma.

Both Appledoorn and his retired Shasta College coach and Spartan teammate Leon Donohue were hospitalized in Redding. In February Leon’s bone marrow cleaning didn’t take. He was in urgent need of a transplant. Then one week later he found a match—his sister! (Click Message board link at the top.)

Friedrich pays deposit for Tailgate spot in Tuscaloosa

DU fraternity brothers Jerry Shaw and Al Dart, accompanied  Arkansas turf farmer and golf course builder George Friedrich on a plane trip from Searcy, Ark to Tuscaloosa, Alabama last September scouting the Crimson Tide.  The story is on page 2 of the 24-page SJS Rat “List” which goes into the mail the 2nd week of February. Color photos taken by Shaw are included.

Friedrich has put a deposit down for  a SJS Rat Line tailgate space in the ’Bama Quad this Labor Day. San Jose State will be the first team to play in their expanded (101,000) Bryant-Denny Stadium. Circle the date!
